WASHINGTON (SBG) - The Houston Zoo has welcomed a new addition, a male baby Schmidt's Red-Tailed monkey named Peter Rabbit.

He was born April 10, Easter weekend, which is why the zoo gave him the adorable name.

Peter was too weak at birth and suffered from a skull fracture and was not able to hold on to his mother. The zoo is not sure how the baby monkey was injured.

The zoo says that Peter is healthy now, but veterinarians are still monitoring him. They hope to reunite the baby monkey with his mother as soon as possible.
