WASHINGTON (SBG) – Skittles is commemorating Pride Month by temporarily removing its signature rainbow from packaging.
During the month of June, the "Pride Packs" will feature a colorless design and colorless candy on the inside to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.
For each pack sold, $1 will be donated to the organization GLAAD for each pack sold, according to the press release. Skittles says the move seeks to highlight that during Pride Month, "only #OneRainbow matters."
"While Pride month certainly looks different this year, Skittles is passionate about showing its support for the LGBTQ+ community," said Hank Izzo, Vice President of Marketing, Mars Wrigley U.S. "We believe that giving up our rainbow means so much more than just removing the colors from our Skittles packs and we're excited to do our part in making a difference for the LGBTQ+ community through our partnership with GLAAD, not only in June, but all year long."
The candy will be available in Share Size Packs and Medium Stand Up Pouches at CVS and select Walmart locations.
